The Challenge
This Brookline home is rich with historic character—and the homeowners wanted their landscape to reflect that same timeless sophistication. But outdated and mismatched exterior elements detracted from the home’s architectural charm. Their goal was to enhance curb appeal, improve safety and flow, and tie together multiple outdoor areas with a cohesive, elevated design.
Our Approach

Paver Fan Pattern Driveway:
A custom paver driveway in a fan pattern anchors the front entry with a nod to traditional European streetscapes. Beyond visual appeal, the layout also offers strength and durability for long-term vehicle use.
Integrated Outdoor Lighting:
A warm-toned lighting design illuminates the walkways, steps, and key architectural features, enhancing both safety and ambiance. The lighting design is subtle but transformative, highlighting the natural beauty of the landscape at night.
Natural Bluestone Stepping Stones:
Meandering through the shaded garden space, irregular bluestone slabs create a gentle path from the driveway through the lush plantings. These stepping stones help unify the space while inviting exploration.
Natural Stone Stairway & Patio Transitions:
To navigate the slight grade changes throughout the landscape, we installed custom natural stone steps that lead gracefully between the front driveway, side garden, and rear outdoor living areas.
Shaded Planting Design:
Under mature tree cover, we installed layered, texture-rich plantings that feel organic to the Brookline setting—bringing softness, color, and seasonal interest to every corner of the yard.
