The Challenge
This Lincoln, MA, couple loved hosting but felt held back by their undersized wooden deck. It lacked the space, flow, and comfort they envisioned for dining outdoors, entertaining friends, and enjoying a peaceful afternoon in nature. Their goal: expand their backyard into a functional, beautiful retreat where they could gather comfortably and relax in style.
Our Approach
To give these homeowners a space that matched how they wanted to live, we created a fully reimagined patio layout—built with both purpose and personality:
Spacious Paver Patio:
We removed the cramped deck and replaced it with a large-format paver patio designed to accommodate multiple activity zones for dining, lounging, and conversation.
Lush Surrounding Plantings:
Thoughtfully placed flowering perennials and soft textures brought life and color to the backyard, helping soften the hardscape and enhancing the natural beauty of the space.
Stone Fire Pit:
A stacked-stone fire pit became the centerpiece of the space, providing a warm, cozy setting for evening relaxation and small gatherings.
Intentional Layout:
The patio was designed for easy flow between cooking, dining, and seating areas—making it feel like a true outdoor extension of the home.
